True Role Title: Research Associate - IOnsite role: 5 day/swkPay rate: $21 - $28/hr. on W2.
This is a sample management position and is a logistics role.
Job OverviewWe are looking for a Research Associate to join our Analytical Development team. This individual will report to a Manager and will be responsible for managing starting materials, in-process samples, and final products receiving from various departments, assisting in cryopreservation, and laboratory data management.
Responsibilities and DutiesMain goal is to organize and inventory samples in LN2 units and work with other team members to complete the project.Cryopreserve cell therapy samples from clinical trials and development programsInventory, retrieve, and organize samples for analytical testing /shipping/storageWork with different departments to create sample processing and sampling requirementsSupport sample management for routine in-process testingPerform data documentation to capture sample processing procedure and sample parametersPerform cell counting/viability data analysis for cell samplesProvide training to team members on sample and inventory management systemsDraft/revise SOPs and work instructions for sample management activitiesOther duties as assigned;Occasional weekend support will be required.
QualificationsBachelors degree in cell biology, biochemistry, molecular biology or related field required with 1+ years of experience in a similar role in a laboratory;Experience with aseptic technic as well as primary and mammalian cell culturePrior biological sample management experience is a plus;Ability to follow laboratory procedures with attention to detail and successfully execute experiments at the bench;Has a basic understanding of sample collection, processing protocols, and shipping conditionsMaintains inventory across multiple critical equipment temperature-controlled unitsUnderstands GxP requirements;Ability to think critically and demonstrate troubleshooting and problem-solving skillsStrong organizational and record-keeping skills;Comfortable in a fast-paced environment with minimal direction and able to adjust workload based upon changing priorities;Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and willing to accept temporary responsibilities outside of initial job description;Excellent interpersonal communication skills;Previous customer service experience is a plus;

  • Experience with Microsoft Word and Excel is essential, and knowledge in statistical programming languages such as R and Python is a plus.
