I further attest that all information I submit in my employment application is true to the best of my knowledge.Job DescriptionJob Title: Department SpecialistLocation: Thousand Oaks, CAAbout the role:The Department Specialist is responsible for MRP related functions in support of the Thousand Oaks manufacturing operations. Areas of focus include Raw Materials Usage, Work Order Issuance, Timeliness of Transactions, providing input for Bill of Material Structure and Maintenance, and Item Master integrity.How you will contribute:

  • Support daily manufacturing operations through the provision of Work Orders, production documents, batch records, procedures, files and/or data for electronic business systems/applications.
  • Work closely with Mfg. for required Bill of Material Structure, Maintenance, and Item Master integrity and/or changes.
  • Technical approver for batch records.
  • Maintain up to date JDE transactions associated with Mfg. batch records (MFRs/MBRs/BDS Conversions)
  • Use associated Mfg. applications for maintaining data (JDE, Discoverant, LIMs)
  • Providing documentation for sample shipments
  • Work with Sr. Department Specialist Lead to Identify/prioritize/provide resources in an area to assist customers to meet the annual operational plan and budgetary commitments.
  • Train in the duties of the Sr. Department Specialist Lead for succession; SOP development, Metrics, Reporting, Training of others within the department.
  • Submit and/or maintain and distribute reports related to solution/material scrap and others as needed.
  • Providing first rate customer service including understanding and meeting customer requirements, together with a positive and professional manner.

  • Support and Emphasize the Safety and Quality commitments of the department and facility.
  • Maintaining a clean, orderly, safe, and secure work area at all times.
  • Support training for employees in your area of operation (including but not limited to GMP, job skills, safety).
  • Assist with development and ensure adherence of departmental SOPs.
  • Support compliance with all GMP rules, product documentation, specifications, SOPs, and FDA requirements as required.
  • May perform other duties as assigned.
  • Supply Chain/ERP operations knowledge.
  • Thorough working understanding and application of quality and business systems, for example: document/ batch record control, inventory control, and training.
  • Knowledge of cGMP manufacturing practices.
  • Understanding and compliance to Good Documentation Practices (GDP).
  • Ability to complete tasks with minimal direction from Manager and/or Supervisor.
  • Must be self-directed and motivated to complete repetitive tasks.
  • Ability to utilize resources in the most efficient and productive manner possible.
  • Able to proactively improve processes, initiate projects and implement change.
  • Ability to identify errors or faults in process and recommend or implement solutions.
  • Make arithmetic calculations quickly, accurately and be able to work with both the metric and USA standards of measurement.
  • Must be able to read and follow detailed written instructions and have good verbal/written communication skills.
  • Must be able to read, write, and converse in English.
  • Must be able to navigate, conduct searches, and fill online forms on Personal Computer for the purposes of training, performance management, and self-service applications.
  • Must have the ability to navigate electronic mail systems and intranet for communication purposes.
  • Knowledge of personal computer software programs such as MS Excel, Power Point, MS Word, and other comparable programs.
  • Good interpersonal skills and be able to work effectively and efficiently in a team environment.

        • May be required to stand for extended periods of time.
        • May be required to use hand / finger feel constantly when completing the following job duty: keyboard data entry into computer business applications.
        • Office environment.
        • Able to work more than 8 hours a day or 40 hours a workweek as required.
        • May be required to work or be assigned to a different shift as needed.
        • Will interact with other people.
        • Pace may be fast and job completion demands may be high.
        • May work in a controlled environment requiring special gowning and wear protective clothing over the head, face, hands, feet and body. This may include additional hearing protection for loud areas.
        • Will need to remove all make-up, jewelry, contact lenses, nail polish and/or artificial fingernails while in the manufacturing environment.
        • May work in a cold, hot or wet environment.
