Macerich is looking for motivated interns with an interest in learning the inner workings of an in-house legal department to join our summer internship program. Through this internship experience, the candidate will gain broad exposure to the operations of our legal department including exposure to all aspects of real estate transactions including leasing, sales, operations, anchor transactions, REAs and CC&Rs. The candidate will work closely with our internal development, anchor, leasing, tenant coordination, asset management and property management teams. The ideal candidate should be a self-motivated, proactive communicator who is prepared to work in a dynamic, cross-discipline team environment. Position Logistical Details Internship Period: June - August (negotiable start and end dates based on academic calendar) Duration: 10 weeks at full time (40 hours per week) Available Placement Location: Santa Monica, CA Compensation: $22 per hour Your Key Success Attributes Energetic, personable, and adaptable Ability to work both independently and within a team environment Detail-oriented and highly organized Adept in developing and maintaining positive and collaborative relationships through in-person and virtual communications Excellent written and verbal communication skills Comfortable presenting ideas and solutions freely General financial and analytical skills preferred Qualifications Strong knowledge of PC, Windows, Internet applications, Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook Skilled in navigation of virtual conferencing tools Adept at learning new programs - Position may require learning and usage of a variety of real estate-related software applications.
