Surgical Tech Location: Northridge, CA Agency: Cynet Health Pay: $1,768 per week Shift Information: Rotating - 5 days x 8 hours Contract Duration: 13 Weeks Start Date: 2/3/2026 About the Position Surgical Technologist Profession: Surgical Tech Specialty: Operating Room Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Evening/Night Hours per Shift: 8 hours Experience: Minimum of 2 years License: Required Certifications: BLS Certification Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) via NBSTSA Must-Have: Trauma experience Orthopedic experience General surgery experience Description: Unit has 12 general operating room suites, 1 cardiovascular operating room suite, and 1 hybrid room. On average, 14 cases are performed per day. Certifications required include BLS and CST. Staffing ratio is 1:1. Electronic Medical Record system used is Cerner Surginet. Charge nurse on duty. Weekend call is required every 4th weekend for certain shifts. Call for weekdays is self-scheduled, typically requires 4-8 calls in a 4-week schedule. Call response time is expected within 30 minutes. Holiday requirements include 1 major and 1 minor holiday in both summer and winter months. Scrub color is provided. No floating between departments for techs or nurses. Orientation takes 2-3 shifts on the unit. Common surgical cases include orthopedic procedures, gynecological surgeries, urology, trauma surgeries, ENT, and general surgeries. CVOR procedures will not be required unless specifically mentioned. Scrubbing is preferred for RNs, with a suggested experience level of 3-5 years. Experience in sterile processing is required if applicable. Certification in sterile processing is accepted through recognized bodies, along with BLS and 2 years of experience. Shifts are 8 hours in duration, with defined start times. Cancellations are allowed up to 4 shifts per assignment. Charting system utilized is Cerner. BSN degree is not required.
