Job Description:
Responsibilities Include:
Hire, retain, manage and develop a team of accounting
professionals
Ensure the accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of monthly,
quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with US
GAAP and local statutory requirements
Establish and maintain a rigorous system of accounting policies,
procedures, and internal controls that comply with 404b SOX and
other regulatory standards
Coordinate with external auditors, tax advisors, and other service
providers to ensure efficient and effective audits, reviews, and
filings
Monitor and analyze accounting data and trends to identify
opportunities for improvement and optimization
Monitor and evaluate international financial performance, controls
in accordance with corporate accounting policies, identify trends,
variances, and areas for improvement
Provide financial analysis and insights to support business
decisions and select forecast projections
Implement and maintain accounting systems and processes that
deliver continuous improvements and scalability
Provide financial information so that outside accountants can
complete tax returns
Review technical accounting memos and review work performed by
specialists (i.e., valuation and technical accounting
specialists)
Stay updated on accounting standards, industry trends, best
practices, and changes in regulations, proactively recommending and
implementing changes to accounting policies and practices as
required
Drive process improvements and automation initiatives to enhance
efficiency and scalability of financial operations
Particular focus on mentoring and developing junior staff
Skills & Experience Required:
A bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field; a
master's degree or CPA certification is required
At least 10 years of progressive accounting experience in a global
consumer products company (B2B, not B2C); at least 5 years of
leadership experience
In-depth knowledge and understanding of technical accounting, US
GAAP, Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX), tax laws, and other relevant accounting
principles and practices
Preference for Chart of Account restructuring experience
Proven experience managing accounting teams and overseeing global
financial operations
Experience with operations with global transfer pricing, physical
goods inventory management, sales deduction policy and complex
intercompany transactions
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
M&A integration experience, a plus
Excellent communication, presentation, interpersonal and Excel
skills
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic, and
multicultural environment
Experience with implementation of and proficiency in accounting
software, ERP systems and other relevant tools, with preferences
for JD Edwards (JDE) and Blackline

Compensation: JAKKS Pacific offers a competitive salary.
Compensation for this role commensurate with experience,
qualifications, location, and education and typically ranges from
$175,000-225,000 with eligibility for incentive compensation.
