We are seeking a highly motivated -leader -to join Kite's -Corporate -Development Team as the Senior Director of -Corporate -Strategy -and -Enterprise -Planning. The Senior Director will -drive -and -foster -Kite's short- and long-term -growth -strategy -and as such, is -responsible -for -cultivating -key elements of Kite's mid and long-term -strategy, including setting the strategic goalposts for Kite, -cross-functional -development the roadmap / path to achieve those goals (research, clinical and business development targets), aligning Kite stakeholders and -leaders -to the strategic plan, as well as working with finance to embed the strategic plan in the -organization -through -thoughtful -resourcing, funding, tracking and monitoring.This opportunity, internally known as a Senior Director off -Corporate -Development, will be based at Kite's Global Headquarters in Santa Monica, California and will report to the -Head -of -Corporate -Strategy -and -Enterprise -Planning. Occasional travel will be necessary. Responsibilities -include:

  • Manages small team to -facilitate -and -cultivate -near, mid and long-term -growth -strategy -through synthesis of external market trends, available opportunities, major -risks -and internal product developments
  • Works closely with -cross-functional -leaders -to -develop -enterprise -perspectives on major technological or market developments to provide context to -decision -making across the company
  • Develops high-level action plans to take strategic priorities and embed them into Kite's practices, portfolio -choices -and functional plans
  • Supports -Kite -Head -of -Strategy -in evolving the -corporate -vision and develops business review materials for discussions with Gilead stakeholders, -leaders, and Board of Directors
  • Leads -strategic -growth -initiatives for the CEO to further strengthen Kite's ability to impact patients and achieve its mission for the cure
  • Creates a high-performance -inclusive -team culture within -Corporate -Strategy -and -cross-functional -teams through -collaboration, creates space for -healthy -debate, and -fosters -inclusion
  • Guides -Corporate -Key Performance Indicator Development (KPIs) and QBR process to ensure performance against its -commitments:
    • Partners with functional -leaders -to align on KPIs and targets (and track progress quarterly)
    • Develops insights from KPIs for -thoughtful -discussion at the QBR
    • Supports -development of and tracks progress against mitigation strategies
    • Facilitates -quarterly business reviews -with the -Head -of -Corporate -Strategy -and -Enterprise -Planning
    • Ensures rigorous adherence to quality and compliance Basic Qualifications: Doctorate degree with 10+ -years -of -Strategy -and/or -Management -Consulting experienceORMA / MS degree with 12+ -years -of -Strategy -and/or -Management -Consulting experienceORBS / BA degree with 14+ -years -of -Strategy -and/or -Management -Consulting experienceORBS / BA degree with 16+ -years -of -Strategy -and/or -Management -Consulting experienceORHigh School Degree with 18+ -years -of -Strategy -and/or -Management -Consulting experience Preferred Qualifications:
      • Experience -leading -team of inline reports
      • Preference for MBA from top tier institution; PhD, MD or science background a plus
      • Experience from top tier -Management -Consulting firm highly preferred
      • Excellent -strategic planning and critical thinking skills with the ability to synthesize findings and -articulate -implications from multiple sources of information to formulate meaningful recommendations and uncover market opportunities
      • Excellent -leader -with demonstrated skills from -leading -cross-functional -teams in a matrix -organization, with highly -collaborative -instincts and noted experience of resolving conflicts in a team -environment
      • Demonstrated -success -in influencing key stakeholders, working -collaboratively -in a -diverse -cross-functional -environment -through -excellent -communication -(written and verbal) skills, -organizational -skills, -interpersonal skills, high EQ, and persuasion. Able to -develop, -cultivate, and -nurture -relationships -with key stakeholders
      • Excellent -communication -to -connect -effectively and clearly with clinical scientists, scientists, technical operations professionals, regulatory and commercial colleagues at all levels of the -organization
      • High -learning -adaptability, high degree of -organizational -awareness -and -understanding -of -change -leadership, and -leading -innovation -in an ambiguous and rapidly evolving -environment
      • Ability to assimilate data, recognize key variables, analyze -complex -situations and make quality judgments
