Transportation
Gladstein, Neandross & Associates (GNA), a leading clean
transportation and energy consulting firm, is seeking an Event
Program & Project Director to lead strategy development and project
management for conferences focused on advanced and clean energy
technologies and their various end use sectors-including municipal,
regional and long-haul goods movement, transit/shuttle, school,
construction, refuse, utilities/telecom, and more. -Learn more at

In this role, you will lead the conference program development
process from start to finish, including strategizing session
topics, formats, and speakers that showcase the projects and
technologies driving sustainability across multiple commercial
transportation sectors. -This not a logistics role.
As the Event Program & Project Director, this individual will be
central to helping GNA remain at the forefront of industry trends,
maintaining and growing connections with industry leaders, and
developing new business opportunities. -Having the ability to
quickly absorb new information and provide feedback that will
support GNA's business growth and the ability to represent GNA well
to a diverse audience is vital. -The ideal candidate is an
extremely organized individual with a passion for advanced clean
tech and experience managing complex projects with multiple
stakeholders. This position would ideally be in our Santa Monica,
California office (hybrid schedule of three days in office, two
days remote), but we are willing to consider a fully remote role
for the right candidate.
Primary responsibilities of this position include:
- Lead the conference program development process, including
strategizing session topics, formats, and speakers. -Agendas must
serve multiple goals including serving cutting edge content,
supporting the communications goals of sponsors/exhibitors, and
creating tie-in opportunities with off-site tours and demonstration
projects.
- Work to expand the reach of conference programming including
development of new conference series and channels for attendee
participation
- Oversee outreach process to develop an optimal slate of
speakers in support of agenda topics
- Draft compelling agenda session titles and descriptions to
attract fleet executive attendance
- Provide direction to the marketing team to support attendee
outreach efforts, including reviewing email content/images, thought
leadership articles, website content/images, promotional videos,
event collateral, and more
- Provide direction and feedback for sponsor/exhibitor outreach,
including helping to identify target organizations and
contacts
- Identify and organize opportunities to host in-person or
virtual tours so that attendees can see real-world projects
firsthandSecondary responsibilities of this position include
- Identify industry associations to participate as "endorsing
organizations" to help market the educational event to their
members
- Coordinate with the marketing team to identify target audiences
and provide direction on list development
- Collaborate with SVP of Sales to identify speaking
opportunities for key sponsors and exhibitors
- Participate in pre-event prep calls with speakers/panelists to
provide direction to speakers on key trends/topics to cover, tips
to ensure presentations are informative and compelling, and
questions speakers might receive from the audience
- Organize internal planning meetings with the event logistics,
marketing and speaker support teams, including preparing agendas
and status updates
- Respond to technical inquiries from conference attendees and
team members
- Identify ideal locations/dates to host the annual conference
based on the competitive event landscape, opportunities for
off-site tours, local sponsorship opportunities, and other
factors
- Drive process management including documentation of workflows,
roles and responsibilities, post-event key findings, and
refinements
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in business, technology, or a related field
strongly preferred
- At least five years of program management experience in a
technical or policy field including a working knowledge of
technology, public policy, agencies, public funding, and
trends.
- Candidates should have demonstrated experience and interest in
advanced clean transportation technologies and trends-including
electromobility, hydrogen fuel cell, connected technology, low
carbon fuels, autonomous, supply chain efficiency, and more-and the
early demonstration projects taking place in commercial operations
around the world.
- Exceptional ability to organize, document, and effectively
communicate complex ideas to a diverse audience
- Excellent written and oral communication skills in
English.
- Experience developing educational events, conferences, and
tradeshow is a major plus
- Strong interpersonal skills; high degree of responsibility,
initiative, and professionalism
- Exceptionally strong organizational and planning
experience
- "Can-do" attitude and a willingness to learn
- Proficient in the Microsoft Office Suite
