About the role
The Senior Manager, People Research will be a catalyst and critical thought leader in reimagining and transforming the People function to be a competitive advantage for Roku. You will directly engage with HR and business leaders to scope complex human and data related questions. You will build and lead a team of People Researchers and Data Scientists responsible for strategic initiatives, research and experimentation. You will analyze, model, test, and build solutions that provide insights and recommendations. You will solve essential business challenges such as (but not limited to):


  • Identifying what factors drive and improve collaboration across the organization
  • Predicting which employees are at risk of leaving the organization before they leave
  • Predicting which of our applicants each year would make great hires
  • Identifying what characteristics make a superlative engineer or creative designer, etc.

    What you'll be doing





    • Build relationships with leaders across key HR functions and with key partners outside HR to help define an impactful research agenda and roadmap
    • Build our integrated employee survey strategy and own insights from our employee listening channels
    • Lead the design of research projects to uncover trends and opportunities at a macro/enterprise level and at the individual business unit level
    • Develop testable hypotheses about our workforce and conduct statistical analyses
    • Connect data from a variety of tools and systems, both internal and external
    • Help develop a better understanding of the key predictors of employee experience and performance
    • Above all else, you will contribute to the continual evolution of our HR function by building partnerships, identifying challenge areas, effectively communicating findings, and ultimately influencing executive decision-making





      We're excited if you have





      • Advanced degree (MS or PhD) in an analytical field
      • 7+ years of relevant experience, ideally at a technology company or in a consulting environment
      • Experience in survey design and programs
      • Experience with programming packages (e.g., Python, R, SAS, SPSS)
      • Experience with database querying (i.e., SQL)
      • Strong grasp of advanced research methods and statistical techniques
      • Strong problem solving, communication and presentation skills
