Would you like to join us in this mission?The Associate Director of Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP), is a key leadership position within the Supply Chain function of Technical Operations and partners with stakeholders to develop the global supply footprint capable of delivering innovative cell therapies for treatment of cancers. We are seeking a highly motivated individual to join our team who can drive S&OP process by aligning on assumptions, modeling demand and supply scenarios, orchestrating network planning activities, and structuring business cases. The Associate Director, internally known as an Associate Director of Supply Chain, will report into the Director of Supply Chain and requires a strong analytical and program management skillset that will see the individual successfully drive S&OP based on internal priorities, external opportunities and financial considerations.While our preference is for this position to be based out of our Santa Monica, CA headquarters, this opportunity can be or located at our Frederick, Maryland or Oceanside, CA facilities.Responsibilities of the Associate Director of Sales & Operations Planning include:

  • Lead the S&OP process across Kite and continuously improve planning processes to drive better business
  • Manage the aggregation of the demand plan process across therapeutic areas, categories and geographies, producing a rolling 24-36 month estimate of unconstrained future demand in units
  • Conduct rough cut capacity and scenario planning to be able to validate and present data and analytics to facilitate decision making
  • Develop, monitor and revise production plans, in the short and long term, to optimize the use of manpower, equipment and financial resources while meeting the needs of patients
  • Prepare data and material for monthly S&OP meetings that will facilitate decisions around equipment, labor and all other resources needed to support demand over the S&OP planning horizon
  • Assist in the documentation of assumptions incorporated in the demand and supply plan and validate past assumptions
  • Coordinate and facilitate the monthly S&OP meetings to achieve the demand plan consensus including strategic, product, sales, and marketing activities as well as supply plan balance and constraints/gaps
  • Develop support metrics, tools and reporting that will enable teams to track and achieve service level targets
  • Track performance metrics and analysis to identify both opportunities and potential issues within S&OP processes and reporting as well as those across departments; provide insights and recommendations to help improve results
  • Identify significant business risks and escalate to the leadership teams
  • Represent function and support team goals, leadership asks, cross functional project teams as neededBasic Requirements:PhD degree with 2+ years of Supply Chain and/or Operations and/or Strategic Consulting experienceORMA / MS degree with 8+ years of Supply Chain and/or Operations and/or Strategic Consulting experienceORBS / BA degree with 10+ years of Supply Chain and/or Operations and/or Strategic Consulting experienceORHigh School Degree with 14+ years of Supply Chain and/or Operations and/or Strategic Consulting experiencePreferred Qualifications:
    • 4+ years' in highly analytical supply/demand planning environment; S&OP experience is a plus
    • 2+ years in managerial role
    • Highly skilled communicator with proven ability to simply and succinctly communicate complex analytical conclusions; influence or persuade others through oral and written presentations in positive or negative circumstances; listen well
    • Robust analytical and statistical skills to evaluate and interpret complex problems using multiple sources of information
    • High attention to detail and proven ability to manage multiple, competing priorities simultaneously
    • High proficiency in PowerPoint and Excel; Rapid Response/SAP experience is a plus
    • Self-directed and able to work independently with minimal direction
    • Adaptable and enthusiastic team player
