Job Description:
Job Description Job Description About the Company Mission
Microwave Technologies was founded in 2014 to revolutionize the
next generation of Solid-State Power Amplifiers (SSPAs) and Block
Upconverters (BUCs). We utilize advanced GaN transistors, unique
power-combining technology, and innovative full-system designs to
create the industry’s most efficient, lightweight, and compact
high-power SSPAs. Our leadership team brings more than 100 years of
combined experience delivering high-performance, high-reliability
SSPAs to commercial, military, and space customers. In just 10
years, our rapid growth and industry-leading innovation have
attracted private-equity ownership and national recognition. We’re
proud to be ranked 23 on the Fortune Best Workplaces in
Manufacturing & Production and certified as a Great Place to Work®
since 2022. Mission Microwave’s headquarters are located at 6060
Phyllis Drive, Cypress, CA 90603. About the Role As an Analog
Circuit Designer, you’ll lead the design, development, and
optimization of AC-DC and DC-DC converters, filters, distribution,
and monitor/control (M&C) boards that power revolutionary SSPAs
and BUCs. Your work will enable high-efficiency, high-power RF
systems for ground-based, airborne, and space-based applications.
You’ll drive technical innovation, mentor engineering teams, and
collaborate closely with customers, program managers, RF engineers,
and manufacturing teams to ensure every design meets
mission-critical performance, reliability, and regulatory
standards. This is a role for someone who thrives at the
intersection of analog circuit design, power electronics, and
high-reliability RF systems. What You’ll Do Lead the design,
analysis, and optimization of AC-DC and DC-DC converters, filters,
distribution, and M&C boards for RF/microwave systems. Drive
technical innovation using emerging semiconductor technologies for
high-efficiency, high-power RF applications. Develop power
distribution system architectures and technical specifications.
Perform complex analog circuit design, simulation, and modeling
using tools such as LTspice, LTpowerCAD, and LTpowerPlanner. Lead
multidisciplinary engineering teams through complete product
development lifecycles from concept to production. Conduct design
reviews, risk assessments, and technical trade studies to ensure
optimal solutions. Select components and ensure designs meet
performance, reliability, and environmental requirements including
MIL-STD and DO-160 compliance. Support prototype development,
testing, and qualification for space and airborne systems.
Implement power electronics designs, including switching power
supplies and DC-DC converters for RF systems. Ensure EMI/EMC
compliance and design for regulatory requirements in aerospace
applications. Generate and maintain documentation within version
control and configuration management systems. Collaborate with
customers and cross-functional teams to define technical
requirements and system specifications. Interface with suppliers to
ensure component reliability and obsolescence mitigation. Represent
Mission Microwave at technical conferences, customer meetings, and
industry forums. Mentor junior and mid-level engineers in analog
design principles and best practices. Provide technical guidance on
complex engineering challenges and design optimization. Foster a
culture of continuous improvement and technical excellence within
the engineering organization. Ensure all designs comply with
industry standards, regulations, and customer requirements. Support
quality assurance activities including design verification and
validation testing. What You Bring Bachelor’s degree in Electrical
Engineering, RF/Microwave Engineering, or a related field (MS/PhD
preferred). 5 years of experience in analog circuit design and
power electronics development, with a strong track record of
designing and producing power supplies. Expert-level knowledge of
analog circuit design principles and power distribution
architectures. Extensive experience with analog simulation tools
such as LTspice, LTpowerCAD, LTpowerPlanner, or similar platforms.
Deep understanding of semiconductor technologies for power
generation. Proficiency in switching power supplies, DC-DC
converters, and thermal management for high-power RF systems.
Knowledge of EMI/EMC design principles and aerospace regulatory
compliance. Experience designing systems for aerospace, defense, or
satellite communication applications. Familiarity with MIL-STD
requirements, space qualification, and DO-160, MIL-STD-461
standards. Understanding of SATCOM, radar, or electronic warfare
system requirements. Strong leadership and mentorship skills with
experience guiding engineering teams. Excellent communication,
presentation, and technical writing skills. Ability to thrive in a
fast-paced, dynamic environment. Active security clearance or
ability to obtain clearance preferred. At Mission Microwave, you
don’t just take a job; you step into a mission that matters. We
design and build world-class RF and microwave solutions that power
the technologies behind defense, space, and next-generation
communications, and we do it with precision, purpose, and pride.
Here, your ideas are heard, your expertise is trusted, and your
impact is visible from the first design review to the moment our
products perform in the most demanding environments on Earth and
beyond. You’ll work alongside intelligent, driven people who care
deeply about craftsmanship, collaboration, and doing the right
thing, in a culture that values growth, integrity, and human
connection as much as technical excellence. If you’re looking for a
place where your work truly matters, where you can stretch, learn,
and build something extraordinary with a team that has your back,
Mission Microwave is where your next chapter begins. Apply Now.
