Associate Scientist - AD Data Quality Engineer

We are seeking a talented and motivated biologist with interest at expanding their capabilities into lab process automation. A candidate who has a passion for laboratory executions specializing in cell biology and multi parametric flow cytometry based immunophenotyping, analysis of the data and its organization and presentation.The successful candidate will be responsible for designing and engineering automation solutions to optimize the execution of flow cytometry and cell biology-based methods for analytical method development for GMP release, characterization, and analytical method technology transfer to appropriate cross functional partners. In addition, the Associate Scientist may be asked to extend offer of automation optimized solutions to other analytical platforms including ELISA and nucleic acid amplification methods. The Associate Scientist could work on critical cross-functional projects with the Process Design, Research, Translational Medicine, and/or QC teams to enable manufacturing process, formulation, and drug product development of Kite's

Responsibilities:

  • Apply automation optimized solutions to complex and scientifically demanding flow cytometry based analytical methods.
  • Assist colleagues at performing automation process robustness of automated methods.
  • Initiate, plan, execute and troubleshoot automation optimized flow cytometry-based development projects with general supervision.
  • Conduct experiments by rigorously implementing approved protocols and following good documentation practices.
  • Systematically record data, make detailed observations and analyze the results of laboratory operations to ensure compliance to appropriate test methods, specifications, and protocols.
  • May be requested to participate at preparation of SOPs, technical reports and test method documents that support method development activities.
  • Participate in meetings, present data, lead discussions in internal meetings and provide the expertise in areas of responsibility.
  • Operate and troubleshoot laboratory instrumentation that is used routinely in execution of assays.
  • Support testing as needed to enable process development, innovation and investigations.

    Basic Qualifications :
    • Master's Degree in Computer, Life, or Physical sciences or related discipline with 3+ years of industry experience or
    • Bachelor's Degree in with 6+ years of industry experience or
    • High School Diploma and 10+ years of industry experience
      Preferred Qualifications:
      • Experience with automation optimized workstations and respective scheduling control software - Vworks, Fluent, Overlord, etc.
      • Familiarity with scripting and programming tools such as JavaScript, C+/++, etc. or equivalent that enhance performance of automation solutions.
      • Knowledge and experience in flow cytometry data analysis using FACSDiva, FlowJo, Cytexpert and other relevant software and their configuration requirements to managing data locally and remotely (shared drive access)
      • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office, statistical data analysis software (e.g. Prism, JMP) and other applications
      • Ability to think critically and demonstrate analytical problem-solving skills
      • Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills and a strong team player
      • Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and willing to accept temporary responsibilities outside of initial job description
      • Experience and aptitude in working in a multidisciplinary laboratory environment with moderate supervision
