An independent, full-service influencer marketing agency built to help brands connect with a new generation of consumers in a social-first world. Who we are looking for (in a nutshell): This is a North American Leadership role. We are looking for a Head of Media who can help us stand up and lead a paid social media practice to complement our award winning creative capabilities. This person would be responsible for the strategy and growth of agency revenue across agreed upon target categories and accounts with a focus on paid digital and social media. The Head of Media would also be responsible for pulling together the agency's current media efforts and operationalizing (initially through partnerships) the agency's paid social media offering.
Why we are doing this ... The Reach Agency has built a very successful digital creative and strategy business with a focus on socially distributed video - often in collaboration with digital influencers. While influencers typically agree to distribute the content they make with Reach Agency clients across their own social channels, most social campaigns require a meaningful paid media effort to meet brand KPI's. As brands continue to allocate more of their marketing to social campaigns, these paid media commitments have continued to grow and the need to ensure close collaboration between creative, organic social strategy and paid social strategy has never been greater. This dynamic has created an opportunity for independent digital creative agencies to offer a seamless earned and paid media offering that will allow social campaigns to be executed more rapidly and opportunistically yielding greater impact and ultimately more effective social outcomes. The Head of Media will work with the Reach Agency founders to build out a new go-to-market strategy that positions the agency to effectively pitch and win the paid media component of social campaigns in addition to the creative work the agency is already known for. In order to get there, we are looking for a digitally savvy media and business development leader who is strategic and has existing relationships with the brands and partners who dominate the social platform space. This person also needs to have deep experience in brand and social media strategy working with CPG, corporate, financial, technology and automotive brands.
Your key responsibilities

  • Develop a new business strategy and roadmap based on agency objectives and resources in partnership with agency leadership
  • Secure Alignment on clear business KPIs tied to these goals
  • Leverage and continue to build on your deep paid social relationships across the brand client (and agency) landscape with a focus on established target categories
  • Develop and manage key client relationships independent of and in partnership with agency founders.
  • Deliver significant revenue growth YoY
  • Own the new business development pipeline and be responsible for the full funnel process from prospecting through contracting.
  • Lay out the template for a best in class paid social media offering and lead the development of an in-house capability to deliver them - initially via external tools and strategic partnerships.
  • Establish and lead an in-house media campaign delivery capability
  • Work with creative, production, finance, legal and operations to ensure all media relationships are set up for success and can be fulfilled and reported on according to industry standards
  • Represent Reach Agency in market: has an established reputation that enables you to be an ambassador capable of extolling the company's image and vision in market and represent the agency at select advertising industry conferences, trade events and other key functions.
    Your qualifications:
    • 10+ years' digital media agency experience in account/media planning leadership with 5+ years experience in net new business development.
    • 3+ year successful track record prospecting and closing new digital media client relationships
    • A reputation of integrity and trust in the marketplace.
    • Established knowledge base in social platform monetization as well as paid and organic digital media
    • Current (real time) understanding of the latest social platform strategies, monetization trends and KPI's
    • Experience working with social media influencers from a campaign performance perspective
    • Strong understanding of social video monetization, performance and trends on social platforms
    • Proven storytelling skills with the ability to lead an agency pitch story and presentation development in collaboration with agency leadership
    • Deep knowledge of best practices in digital video advertising based on established iab standards.
    • 3+ years of team building and leadership experience in a digital media agency environment
    • Comprehensive knowledge of the current digital media landscape - publisher, platform, measurement, adtech
    • Established relationships with the key client decision makers at the brand level in CPG, corporate, entertainment, DTC and other youth targeted categories.
    • Outstanding negotiating and client relationship building skills
    • Excellent written communication, presentation and organizational skills.
    • Strong social media acumen and stay current and interested in cultural trends, industry debates and platform innovations. This applies to all key platforms (Instagram, TikTok, Snapchat, YouTube, Twitter, etc..)
    • Established industry credibility in the digital and social media space with the ability to verbally communicate a unique brand positioning and go-to-market strategy that will effectively position The Reach Agency for competitive advantage in the marketplace for the categories and clients the agency is targeting.       • Can work proactively and independently, outside the confines of a 'traditional' agency structure
      • Quickly establish a high level of trust with colleagues, clients and talents; adeptly assessing project needs, adding value and making thoughtful talent recommendations
      • Are open-minded and a great listener - i.e. you can effectively hear the inputs and opinions of others before formulating a POV
        Agency Leadership:
        • You will be part of the leadership team
        • Be able to support and motivate your team to exceed expected goals through a philosophy of servant leadership
        • Collaborate and build bridges with the leads of other internal teams (Creative, Strategy, Production, Account) to ensure smooth communication and to improve execution on client work.
