jobs.allianceresourcegroup.com."> jobs.allianceresourcegroup.com."> Job Description Alliance Resource Group has partnered with an investment firm looking for a hands-on Controller (looking to grow into the CFO role) to help lead their business operations. We are looking for an experienced individual with real estate experience, tax knowledge, someone who can manage the financials, take ownership for the accounting and finance team, and in a perfect world, have had experience with real estate acquisitions/dispositions. This is going to be a very important hire and we are looking for a high level of integrity, drive, and someone who wants to be a part of strategic investments at a family run investment firm. This position will be 100% in office - no exceptions.

Responsibilities:

• Manage and prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting for real estate investment properties (single family projects and multi-family).
• Ownership of state/federal income tax returns, quarterly estimates, and year-end tax planning for the company and related entities.
• Annual Consolidated Corporate Financial Report (CPA Review): Prepare and review the annual consolidated corporate financial report.
• Preparation of personal financial statements for all new loans.
• Monitor fees on invested assets, funded and unfunded commitments, and assist in preparation of annual budgets, liquidity management, and account reconciliations
• Review and reconcile investments, partnership interest, and intercompany transactions on a monthly/quarterly basis.
• Oversee day-to-day accounting tasks, including AP processing, with assistance from staff accountant.
• Prepare semi-monthly payroll and 401-K distributions.
• Property management accounting, compliance, and corporate accounting.
• Drive overall risk management and insurance functions and take initiative for continued improvements in controls and processes.
• Demonstrate ability to prioritize and manage multiple assignments and projects to meet deadlines with efficiency and accuracy.
  Requirements:
  • 10+ years of experience financial planning or financial accounting for privately held, US-based entities.
  • Real estate experience is a must and construction experience is a plus.
  • Bachelors and/or Master' s degree in accounting, CPA required: CFP designation or MBA a plus.
  • Experience from Big 4, large public accounting firm, or investment company and/or Family Office preferred, must have working knowledge of GAAP and tax basis accounting.
  • Strong Yardi GL experience.
  • Experience with building management and related financial reporting a plus.
  • Proficient in QuickBooks and Microsoft Office products (required)
  • Ability to work with multiple entities and intercompany transactions.
  • Positive, open attitude with flexibility to work on different projects under different timelines.
  • An energetic, efficient, and resourceful team player and self-starting individual contributor.
