Monica, CAHybrid Work Schedule: Approximately 1-2 days per week in
office This role would report through the Credit, Financial and
Business Risk Team within the Second Line of Defense. This team is
also often referred to as Credit Business Risk Officers, ultimately
reporting to the Head of Credit Business Risk and Controls.This
team's responsibilities center around working with Credit
stakeholder to ensure various credit risks are appropriately
managed within our business processes. In executing this work, we
engage with stakeholders from across the institution, as well as
multiple outside parties. This role may perform deep dives into
certain processes involved in running a Bank's Credit function and
get an appreciation for the complexities in ensuring proper risk
management and compliance within a large financial institution. The
role plays a special focus to ensuring proper risk management of
Sarbanes Oxley (SOX) compliance over financial reporting.Primary
Responsibilities:
- Assists with various components of the SOX program for the
Credit Administration organization, including narrative / flow
chart updates, controls design and implementation, walkthroughs,
process improvements, remediation efforts, and deficiency
assessment
- Support team members and control owners when designing controls
that are efficient and will address SOX requirements for management
review controls and information provided by entities (e.g.
spreadsheets, reports, queries and code logic)
- Draft meeting notes and takeaways, schedule meetings to drive
initiatives forward, follows up with business owners and manage
questions/concerns, where needed
- Monitors and updates dashboards, internal documents and the
status of open items and manages them through closure
- Assist with conducting interviews with business / IT units and
project implementation teams to understand their processes and
internal controls during Company initiatives and special
projects
- Partners with business / IT owners in the assessment of control
issues and help them articulate the root cause, analyze the actual
and potential impact, develop correction plans, and conclude on
final assessmentSkills & Requirements
- Candidates must be undergraduate students currently enrolled in
a four-year college/university or graduate school.
- Candidate should have a minimum GPA of 3.5
- Seeking the following Majors: Accounting/Finance/Data
Science/Business Management
- Leadership skills, self-starter, disciplined worker, with the
ability to independently drive tasks to completion
- Ability to meet tight timelines and manage multiple competing
priorities while delivering sound results
- Exercises creativity, critical thinking, analytical thinking,
and collaboration to solve control problems
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
- Enjoys collaboration and building relationships across various
functionsBase Pay:$18.00 - $31.00Actual starting base pay will be
determined on skills, experience, and other non-discriminatory
